Kujo is an exceptionally versatile, environmentally and socially stable working-dog prospect ready to continue into a single-purpose or full-service Law Enforcement K9 program.
Kujo has been in continued development with Mid-Carolina K9 since February, with training and exposure in:
• Patrol/bite work
• Obedience
• Tracking
• Detection foundations
Kujo is not currently imprinted on a specific odor, allowing the purchasing agency to condition him to its operational needs, including narcotics, explosives, firearms,
or other target odors.
He has been started in tracking.
His bite work is phenomenal. Very solid and deep grips, clear headed, civil, clear headed, and handles pressure very well.
What makes Kujo stand out is his versatility and stability.
He has the drive to turn on and WORK when asked, but he also has an excellent off switch. When the work is finished, he can settle, socialize, and be part of everyday life.
Kujo is environmentally stable and socially sound with extensive exposure to adults, children, other dogs, livestock, poultry, and a variety of environments.
He is a willing, clear-headed dog who accepts fair correction without conflict. He does not redirect or come up the leash under pressure. He has been conditioned to training tools but is not dependent upon them with consistent handling and training.
His temperament and clarity make him an excellent candidate for a department looking for a dog that can work hard without sacrificing stability or manageability.
Kujo has even been successfully worked by my smaller 14-year-old nephew, who had no previous dog-handling experience, a testament to Kujo’s clear head, willingness, and handler adaptability.
