Owner Comments

Very excited to announce this unusual litter! BOTH PARENTS ARE IMPORTED FROM GERMANY AND ARE 100% GERMAN. Dam was bred in Germany, by me, and is 1/2 West German and 1/2 East German working lines, and sire is West German conformation lines. I bred and raised the dam until she was 6 months old and fate has brought her back to me at 4 years old.

I was so impressed with the temperament of the sire- he was everything I was looking for to produce pups with superior, sound temperament, warm attitude toward children of all ages, good health and longevity, that legendary GSD loyalty and intelligence, and last but not least...a good looking dog anyone would be happy to call their own, whether we like to admit we care about how our dog looks or not;-)

Both sire and dam are very sound dogs temperamentally, phenomenal with children, totally trustworthy, quiet in nature (neither dog barks much at all- only when necessary), not dog-aggressive, good with small animals yet both have high prey drive, both possess that coveted "off switch" that's lacking in so many GSDs of both conformation and working lines in recent years.

Filius, the sire, exudes confidence. He's charismatic and secure in any environment. I brought him to my home for the breeding and you'd never know he wasn't my dog. He was absolutely secure anywhere I took him; I ran errands, I took him for a bath, I took him into stores, for walks, etc. He is rock solid anywhere. He has moderately high drive (high for show lines, moderate for working lines) when asked, but is as calm a dog as anyone could hope to have. His protection is very natural and strong- he's a dog you can trust to bite if necessary, and not bite inappropriately. My 4 yr. old son fell in love with him immediately and the feeling was mutual. I hated to return him. He's a great dog I will try to utilize again to increase calmness while keeping drive and nerves strong.

He is a VA Ando vom Altenberger Land son. Ando was legendary for his temperament and passing his phenomenal temperament onto his offspring. Filius' dam was imported for police work, but the trainer decided she was too good, and he kept her to breed instead. She goes back to Kirschental lines. Filius is linebred on Jeck Noricum.

Aria is quiet and ladylike in the house, but is VERY high drive when asked. She is quite intense and has a lot of determination; she's a strong girl like her mom and has temperament and drive to spare. She has a protective edge, is always alert and watchful, and has her mother's typical fantastic temperament toward children of all ages. Aria is an angel in the house, all day, loose. This is extremely unusual in these lines with her level of drive. She requires no crate and is kind to my cats and small dogs, which is noteworthy considering what high prey drive she has. This is testament to her clarity in temperament; she is clear in the head and totally in control of herself- zero hectic behavior, zero acting out in frustration, zero redirection toward the handler, etc. She sleeps in my son's room every night.

Hips and elbows are both great on both dogs. Both dogs are totally healthy, with no skin or stomach issues people think are "normal" in German Shepherds (they are NOT NORMAL!) Pigment on both dogs is excellent; Aria is the darkest sable I've seen in person, and has a lot of red in her coat. Filius has gorgeous pigment and I'd expect the same in the pups.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have; I've tried to be thorough as to what we're expecting. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys grow up. While there's no such thing as a perfect living being, these pups exhibit high trainability, discernment, ample drive for any venue you'd like to train in, and be able to "chill" enough to be a valued family member, not a neurotic dog you need to alter your schedule to accommodate. You must put time and effort into any relationship; the relationship with your dog is no different, however, a well-rounded dog with excellent GENETIC temperament makes this a joy, not a chore.

Thanks for reading!
