Training Details
Seasoned Police K-9 with 3 years of real work experience. Skylar completed Basic 12 weeks Narcotics Detection training and 16 hours of in service training a month with the Woodruff Police Department in house K-9 Training Divisions and is fully Trained and Certified through NNDDA, and SCPK-9A in Narcotics Detection with Passive Response on vehicles and buildings on Marijuana, Cocaine Powder and Rock, Meth, Ecstasy, Heroin also Completed Basic Criminal Apprehension and Handler Protection training through Contract Trainer Mark Shawn of HHH K-9 Training Services. Skylar was originally a trained as Guard Dog by a K-9 Training Service in GA. and used as a Guard Dog for a art studio business in GA. Skylar was converted to Police Dog by Woodruff Police Department K-9 Division. She could go back to work as a guard dog for personal protection or commercial protection with very little work. Trained and Handled by Woodruff Police Department's head K-9 Trainer and unit Coordinator Lt. Todd Hendrix.

Skylar is a high drive dog while in work mood but couch potato at the house. She is great around kids and other animals. Skylar worked for Woodruff Police Department for 3 years. She made numerous drug cases and money seizures while on the streets and has a lot of real work experience. Skylar was utilized on the WPD SWAT Team, WPD Drug Task Force, and Uniform Patrol. She has experience on all kinds of vehicle searches, residential and commercial search warrants, school searches, airport searches and jail searches. She is comfortable in all types of environments and Police work conditions. Won Top Dog of the month 3 different months in 2011 and was named K-9 of the year receiving the "DOC" award in 2011 out of the departments 5 dog unit. Skylar will pay for herself in a very short time on the job. She was retired early due to K-9 program down sizing for budget cuts and handler being moved to new assignments in the department. Skylar was my personal dog and I would like to see her go back to work she still has several good years left in her to work. I Will offer 80 hour handler training with the Wodruff Police Department K-9 Division for no additional cost. I can email pics of Skylar and drug and money seizures she has made.
