Lake Olympia Animal Hospital was established by Drs. Terry Dobson and Michael Jacob in April 1985 in a small shopping center on Highway 6. The purpose of Lake Olympia Animal Hospital was to better Sugar Land Veterinarian needs of its’ citizens. They cared for the pets and horses of Quail Valley, rural Missouri City and Fort Bend County, and a much smaller version of the Lake Olympia community. Back then, the south side of Missouri City was bordered by the Frost Ranch, a working beef cattle ranch.
The practice grew, and in 1993 they built a new Sugar Land Veterinarian Clinic on Glenn Lakes Lane at the entrance to Quail Valley. They exemplified service, commitment, and compassion to their clients, and over the years a few more veterinarians joined them to help care for the growing number of clients and patients who found their way to LOAH. Eventually, they realized they could fit no more people or pets into the existing space, and faced a choice of extensive remodeling or building a new structure.
In 2008, Dr. Glenda Wall joined as a partner of Lake Olympia Animal Hospital, and these doctors, together with an entire staff of dedicated, caring people, established a new home at 20413 S. University Boulevard. The new Sugar Land Veterinarian location provided some much-needed space for their clients, and allowed them to offer more services and more comfy boarding space for their patients.
The sign from the Glenn Lakes location still hangs at the new building.
