Training Details

Rendon has been a dual purpose police canine for his entire life. He has been and currently trained for narcotics detection (Marijuana, Meth, Heroin, Cocaine etc), apprehensions and tracking. To the best of my knowledge Rendon was originally purchased from Vohne Liche Kennels.

Owner Comments

Rendon is a top of the line canine and loves to work. He is a 7 yr old Dutch Shep and still has a very high energy level. Rendon is trained in narcotic detection and apprehensions. When it comes to air sniffs around vehicles or area searches it doesn't matter if you have hidden or placed a little "shake" or 300lbs of the best Columbia Bam Bam, Rendon will let you know where it is. When it comes to apprehensions I have watched Rendon take down and hold a Goliath sized man with no hesitation or issues.

Rendon is by far a great working dog but he is NOT FOR A FIRST TIME HANDLER!! With all of his great qualities Rendon also has a few behavioral issues that I have tried to work with him on these last few months. His first handler let him get away with shredding stuffed animals in the house allowing him to get in his mind anything is "my chew toy" (blankets, stuffed animals, pillows etc) Rendon has a few aggressive tendencies as well. He wants to work so much and constantly go go go all the time that when he wants to go and the handler doesn't allow him to do so he will turn around and bite at the lead (like playing tug of war). At times he has come back and tried to (sometimes succeeded) bite the handler. Rendon is a highly trained and very aggressive canine and needs to be treated as such.

Over the last few months that he and I have been teamed up I have spent several hours a day working with him on these issues and although he has gotten better I have not been able to break him of it. My supervisor and I have talked to and asked advice and new ways of trying to work on correcting these issues from trainers around the state and throughout the Country with little improvements.

Unfortunately Rendon has been deemed as too aggressive to be used on patrol so I'm placing this add in hopes to find Rendon a good home with an experienced handler or agency who would be willing to continue to work with him and hopefully allow him to do exactly what he loves to do.... WORK! I have been teamed up with another canine to use on patrol and hate seeing Rendon not being able to be on the road.

If you are interested in Rendon please feel free contact me at anytime via email (rwyatt@co.delaware.in.us) or my cell (765-717-4957). I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have to the best of my knowledge. You can also contact my supervisor Cpl D. Williams at 765-716-2184.
