Eirik (Norwegian name, meaning "All Powerful Ruler) was my initial pick of this litter for overall structure, bone, head, etc. when he was tiny. As he's matured and developed his personality, I like him more and more. However, I've been presented with an opportunity I can't turn down, and I cannot raise a puppy right now, so I'm parting with Eirik. He was the first pup born and the largest. Very hardy, healthy pup from Day 1. GORGEOUS looking puppy with an easy temperament to manage. He is not a pushover, but he doesn't pick fights and is not overly dominant. He's very aloof- he is disinterested in visitors unless he's in the right mood, and will almost surely be a one-person type dog, very loyal. He adores me; he is just not interested in strangers. Once bonded, he is going to be an amazing companion/protector. Social butterfly, he is not. Eirik is not clingy, needy or insecure. Content to chew a bone, not too demanding of affection, Eirik is calm and sweet when handling him. Not too mouthy- would be good for children. He's never the one making my 4yr old scream. ;-) He gets along fine with other dogs but is a bit of a loner. He's VERY quiet unless he has to go to the bathroom, in which case he barks at me. He has been sleeping in a 5x5 kennel in my kitchen (yes, my kitchen, lol) due to extreme weather, and he is very very clean. He has high food drive and is handler-oriented- should be highly trainable. Does like to chase a rag and play with stuffed toys, but not too high drive that he's hard to handle. May have show potential (in his 3 gen ped, all are V rated dogs except his mother, who could easily attain a V rating if shown)- he will definitely be a stunning adult. Eirik has been raised around a Chihuahua, a cat, a 4yr old boy, and several adult large breed dogs. Excellent home only.
