Nice girl out of my favorite 2 German Shepherds of all time. Her father was my once in a lifetime dog.
Excellent and totally trustworthy with small children. Extremely high drive- HOWEVER, she has great temperament, good common sense and is in general, a very level-headed dog, so someone looking to build their confidence and increase their handling ability would likely be ok with her. She is VERY civil and has high defense and reacts quickly to a threat. She is not, however, what I'd call sharp, in that she is not a liability despite her high defense and her reaction speed/strength. She is not handler aggressive but she will stick up for herself. She is not dog aggressive, regardless of the size of the dog. I have a Chihuahua that she is fine with. She is very friendly to animals, loves to play with other dogs, does not fight, even other females, but can be bossy with obnoxious males...pretty typical.
She has extremely high prey drive and good hunt drive. Crazy for a ball, Kong, whatever. Very intelligent girl- love to watch her problem-solve.
She is quiet outdoors- virtually silent. Non-destructive, likes to carry things but does not destroy them. Very clean in her crate. Not a good kennel dog- runs non-stop. Best in a large, fenced yard when not supervised, and likes her house time. I let her sleep outside, loose at night and she is also loose (fenced yard) when I'm not home. She does not jump fences but she will open latches. She does not fence fight.
"Household" obedience is a bit lacking for her age due to sport-only upbringing with zero discipline, but she's making great strides. She walks nicely on leash and prong collar, knows basic German commands, sits for her food, etc. but has been allowed on furniture and can be wild in the house until she settles down. Settles nicely when worked prior to being brought in.
Never been bred, hasn't been xrayed (yet). Willing to work with someone interested in breeding or willing to allow me to do so (once or twice- not looking for lifetime control!).
Looking for a GREAT home- no problem keeping her if deserving home isn't found. Should have room to run and plenty of one-on-one attention. Prefer phone calls to emails- gonna be picky about placement. Owning both parents, there's not much I can't answer about her. No "what ifs" or unknowns like when buying from a broker with limited experience with the dog for sale. I will take her back, at any time, any age, for any reason should she not be what I said she was.
