*Extremely* nice girl, turned 4 last month. Huge potential for so many things. I didn't know where to place her- breeding, sport, personal protection, or companion. She is not trained in personal protection, though she has been introduced to a sleeve, so I chose companion, though she's far more than a pet. She would be great for someone who wants a deterrent they could trust alone in the house all day or with very young children. Super dog for the family who doesn't require extensive scenario training and who wants a companion more than a manstopper. She is protective in a maternal way but is not overly territorial. If a big, obnoxious, foaming at the mouth display is what you want your neighbors and would-be intruders to see, she's not it. Rather, she's alert and tuned in to everything going on around her and keenly aware of the situation. She has some natural aggression and will stick up for herself to both people and dogs; she demands a bit of respect but is by no means handler-aggressive or dog-aggressive. Very manageable for the level of intensity she possesses.
Owner's bad luck brought her home to me, her breeder. I would never sell her if I had infinite space and money. She's very special. She's the rare dog that has it all- brains, drive, health, temperament, and amazing looks. Excellent structure. It's a real shame she wasn't shown and titled very young, but there's no reason that all couldn't be done now.
She had one litter and was a phenomenal mother, like her own mother. This is a very strong dam line for producing pups with excellent temperaments, working abilities, and structure.
Both parents V rated German dogs, and no doubt she'd go V as well if shown. She's a "correct middle size" dog of about 63lbs. Amazing agility and speed.
You will not find many dogs of her caliber and level of drive that also is such an angel in the home in her price range. She needs no crate and is trustworthy home alone all day, a perfect lady. She has impeccable temperament with children. I raised her in my home with my infant son until she was sold at 6 months and she has lived with toddlers ever since. She is even good with cats despite high prey drive.
Some experience with working dogs would be helpful, but common sense and a desire to learn would likely be fine, too. She is not a pushover, nor a Golden Retriever, but is a safe, sensible, GSD.
